With the completion of the Mississippi Blues 1/2 marathon this past weekend, my training for the Rock N Roll New Orleans full gets in to full swing.
I have written my mileage down on my calendar and I’m 7 weeks away from the race. From here until two weeks before the run, I will spending my Saturday mornings on the asphalt for a few hours.
My weekly mileage minus the long runs will be 15 miles. Once you add the long runs in, I’ll be running 31-35 miles per week for the next 5 weeks. Then the taper comes and that will be nice.
Since I will be continuing the running streak, my schedule breaks down like this:
Sunday – 1 mile
Monday – 2 miles w/ RealRyder & TRX cross training
Tuesday – 5 miles
Wednesday – 1 mile w/ RealRyder & TRX cross training
Thursday – 5 miles
Friday – 1 mile w/ RealRyder & TRX cross training
Saturday – Long runs (week 1 – 18mi, week 2 – 16mi, week 3 – 20mi, week 4 – 18mi, week 5 – 16mi, week 6 – 8mi, week 7 – Sunday race 26.2)
The next few weeks are going to be busy!
I ran 1 mile this morning to continue the streak. My sugar was running high today, but finally came back to normal before dinner.
